The second verse sung by Paul Klein portrays the same narrative from the male perspective. She admits that she can't resist the temptation of a sip of alcohol solely because he is "the only thing I want when one drop hits my mouth." The narrator blames her ex-partner for her change in drinking habits, saying that he is "the reason" there is no whiskey in her house, that she doesn't go out with friends anymore, and that she hates champagne, which she used to enjoy before. The chorus lays out the central message of the track. The lyrics show the negative impact that the break-up has had on the narrator's relationship with alcohol, as all the drinks she once enjoyed remind her of her past love.
